Ukrainian forces shoot down 35% of Shaheds from portable anti-aircraft missile systems (MANPADS), but more of them, other air defense systems and missiles are needed, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
“We use different types of MANPADS on the battlefield. 35% of all the Shaheds, here is our analytics, and it is accurate, because we built a digital platform of all the Shaheds, all the drones that Russia used on us, on our civilian infrastructure, we shot down 35% with MANPADS,” Zelenskyy said at XX meetings of the Yalta European Strategy (YES).
At the same time, the president noted that there is a shortage of artillery in Ukraine, which depends on imports and the help of partners, besides this, there is a difficulty with FPV drones. Zelensky added that there are Patriot air defense systems in Ukraine, but they are not enough, “but, thank God, the reality is more positive than the official information.”
“And here, thank God and our teams and our partners. Partiot, first of all, or IRIS-T, or our other systems, HAWKS, and so on, they all work, and it is important that they work with missiles. There are always not enough rockets,” Zelenskyy emphasized.
