“Ukrzaliznytsia” increased freight transportation by 11% in January 2023

JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” in January 2023 increased cargo transportation by 11% to 11.293 million tons of cargo, compared to December 2022. The head of the company informed about this Oleksandr Kamyshyn.

The largest share in the structure of transportation is occupied by domestic ones, which showed growth during the reporting period by 3.6% — up to 5.47 million tons. Export transportation in January 2023 amounted to 5.177 million tons, which is 21.1% more than in December 2022 year On the contrary, import transportation decreased slightly by 3.5% to 558,000 tons. Transit rail transportation of goods in January 2023 amounted to 87,600 tons.

In January 2023, Ukrzaliznytsia increased freight transportation by 11%

The largest cargoes in terms of transportation volume:

  • Cereals — growth for the month by 10.9% to 3.6 million tons;
  • Iron and manganese ore — an increase of 46% to 1.7 million tons;
  • Ministry of Construction Materials — the volume of transportation is almost at the level of December (+0.1%), 1.339 million tons;
  • Hard coal — a decrease of 3.2% to 2 million tons.
