Zelensky presented state awards to the Paralympians

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, met and presented state awards to the members of the national Paralympic team of Ukraine – the champions and medalists of the 17th Summer Paralympic Games in Paris.

As informs the press service of the president, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and Minister of Youth and Sports Matviy Bidny also took part in the ceremony.

The President noted that Ukraine is very proud of the Paralympians, because they once again showed the world that Ukrainians are a nation of strong people and have an unwavering desire to win.

“Your victories once again proved: our people are capable of overcoming absolutely all obstacles and difficulties, they know how to fight and win like no one else,” the president addressed the Paralympians.

The head of state thanked the athletes for their strength and ability to rise above the circumstances.

“And I thank our entire team of Ukraine – everyone who works with the national team, who helps, who supports. Thank you to your families, every coach, all of you”, – emphasized Zelensky

He reminded that 138 athletes in 17 sports took part in the Paralympic Games. Ukrainian Paralympians brought Ukraine an extremely inspiring result: 82 medals – 22 gold, 28 silver and 32 bronze.
