A Czech-Ukrainian library was opened in Prague, where you can take books in Ukrainian home

In the new premises of the public center “Svitlo” the Czech-Ukrainian library was opened. Books were brought here from Ukraine, and you can take books home for a week.

The center is located in the premises of the Scout Institute at 9/5 Malya Square, not far from Old Town Square. The official opening of the library took place on June 27. The Czech-Ukrainian library appeared in cooperation Czech Brethren Church, Scout Institute and “Albatross” publishing house.

More than a thousand books were brought from Ukraine, the organizers noted. In particular, books by Czech writers published in Ukrainian: Irena Douskova and Vaclav Grabje. Many books for children.

Books can be taken home for about a week. But while publications are included in the catalog and information system, they are available for reading only on site. In addition, they plan to organize a charitable bookstore in the “Svitlo” public center, where people can bring their own books and leave them.
