In the capital of Algeria, Algiers, during the night prayer, which Muslims hold daily during the month of Ramadan, a cat jumped on the imam.
The video of the moment was published on the imam’s Facebook page, Reuters writes.
In the released footage, it can be seen that the cat slipped unnoticed between the worshipers and jumped on Sheikh Walid Magsas, who was leading the night prayer in Ramadan.
The night prayer took place in the Abu Bakr al-Siddiq mosque.
After the animal was on the Sheikh’s body, the man continued to sing.
Ramadan is a month of obligatory fasting for Muslims and is one of the five pillars of Islam.
It is worth noting that the cat is the favorite animal of the Prophet Muhammad and is a central figure in Islam.
According to legend, one day Muhammad was dressing in preparation for prayer and found his cat Muezzu sleeping on the sleeve of his prayer garment.
Instead of waking the cat, the man cut off the sleeve, leaving the cat alone.
