Depending on the model and parameters, each reading displayed on the meter screen has its own index.
More than 250,000 homeowners in the capital use two-zone electricity meters.
A two-zone meter allows you to reduce electricity costs by up to 50%. Unlike the usual one, it records not only the amount of electricity used, but also the time of its consumption. Therefore, the owners of such meters pay only half of the cost of electricity that was used from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
The energy supply company YASNO explains: in order not to increase your costs, on the contrary, you need to know which indexes on the meter mean day and night indicators, and not to confuse them when transferring.
Depending on the model and parameters, each reading displayed on the meter screen has its own index. Let’s consider which indices mean readings according to “day” tariffs, and which “night” ones, using the example of the three most popular counters: GAMA, NIK, MTX.
On the screen of the two-zone counter, with an interval of 10 seconds, the following are sequentially displayed:
- readings at the “day” rate (from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.);
- readings at the “night” rate (from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.);
- the total amount of consumed electricity.
GAMMA:
On GAMA counters, the index “15.8.2” indicates the “day” tariff, and the index “15.8.1” indicates the “night” tariff. The total amount of consumed electricity is displayed under the index “15.8.0”.
NIK:
Depending on the type of NIK meters, electricity under the “day” tariff has the index “1.8.2”/”15.8.2″/”T22″, and under the “night” tariff – “1.8.1”/”15.8.1″/” T21″. Total volume: “1.8.0”/”15.8.0″/”T2″.
MTX:
On MTX meters, the index “1.8.2” indicates the “day” tariff, the index “1.8.1” indicates the “night” tariff, and “1.8.0” indicates the total volume.
It is these readings that should be submitted every month within the prescribed time limits. If the amount of consumed electricity is unrealistically small or abnormally large, it is necessary to immediately contact distribution system operator. After all, it is the operator of the distribution system who will transfer volumes to YASNO for billing.
This year, more than 52,000 new meters will be installed in the capital. First of all, devices will be replaced in those houses where electric meters have reached the end of their service life. This replacement does not involve any costs for Kyiv residents.
