German non-governmental organizations handed over a mobile medical office to Ukraine, – Ministry of Health

Date:

At the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, the German NGO CADUS handed over a mobile medical office to the partner organization BASE UA in Kyiv in the presence of German Ambassador Anka Feldhusen and Minister of Health of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko. Also, the Minister of Health of Ukraine and the Ambassador discussed further German-Ukrainian cooperation.

After the full-scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine, the German organization CADUS is constantly working in Ukraine. In cooperation with partners from BASE UA and Leave No One Behind Ukraine Info Hub, she helps with patient transportation, conducts medical and safety training for local volunteers, and works on expanding the concept of training for various target groups in Ukraine.

With the financial support of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs, CADUS has already handed over 22 ambulances to Ukrainian organizations and hospitals, converted a bus into a mobile intensive care unit (MICU), and also supports partners with medical equipment and medical materials.

“We want to support Ukrainian men and women in their efforts to build their own health care system. Because of the Russian attack on Ukraine, medical aid is needed even more than it would normally be needed in winter. With the mobile medical office, we are once again strengthening our support for Ukraine,” explains Sebastian Unemann, executive director of CADUS.

“Thanks to the transfer of such mobile offices to the Ukrainian health care system, primary medical care becomes available to Ukrainians who are near the war zone. The destruction of the medical infrastructure has become another challenge of a full-scale war, which international partners are helping Ukraine to overcome. I am sincerely grateful to both the German government and non-governmental public organizations, which are making efforts to ensure the provision of medical assistance in a difficult period for our country,” emphasized Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko.

German Ambassador to Ukraine Anka Feldhusen noted that “The joint work of the German non-governmental organizations Cadus and Leave No One behind and their German volunteers with Ukrainian non-governmental organizations, hospitals and volunteers in strengthening the health care system in Ukraine is one of the testimonies of how important interpersonal relations between Germany and Ukraine. The Germans are sincerely making efforts to help Ukraine and believe in its victory.”

Certificate: CADUS is a non-profit and independent humanitarian organization headquartered in Berlin. CADUS has been working in Ukraine since the beginning of March 2022, evacuating the wounded, providing the necessary assistance, conducting trainings, supporting the delivery of humanitarian aid and the recovery of Ukraine.
