In Luhansk Region, three former law enforcement officers will be tried for collaborationism

The prosecutors of the Luhansk Regional Prosecutor’s Office and the Starobil District Prosecutor’s Office sent indictments to the court against three collaborators who “serve” the occupation authorities.

The investigation established that in March 2022, the former head of the Krasnolutskyi Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Luhansk region was interviewed by representatives of the so-called “LNR” and voluntarily took up a position in the illegal law enforcement body – the “Bilokurakyn District Prosecutor’s Office of the LNR”.

In addition, in June 2022, the 48-year-old resident of Luhansk Oblast became the “chief state inspector of the Tanyushivka customs post of the State Customs Committee of the People’s Republic of China.”

It is also known that in July 2022, another citizen of Ukraine voluntarily defected to the side of the enemy. The accused received a position in the so-called “Markiv District Department of Internal Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the People’s Republic of China”. The figure is issuing passports of the so-called “LNR” and the Russian Federation, in compliance with illegitimate legal acts implemented in the temporarily occupied territory of the Luhansk region.

Currently, the indictment materials have been transferred to the Novomoskovsk and Synelnyk District Courts and the Pokrovsky District Court of the Dnipropetrovsk Region for consideration on the merits.

At the request of the prosecutors, a preventive measure in the form of detention was chosen for the persons in absentia.

For illegal actions, the criminals face up to 15 years in prison with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to 15 years and with possible confiscation of property.
