Lubinets accused the Red Cross of not being able to protect the rights of Ukrainian prisoners of war

Date:

The Red Cross still continues to show the position of an “ostrich”, its employees cannot ensure the protection of the rights of Ukrainian prisoners of war, stated the representative of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on human rights, Dmytro Lubinets.

“More and more often, Russian soldiers kill Ukrainian soldiers who surrender. This is recorded by both law enforcement agencies and international organizations. The ICRC continues to show an “ostrich” position – the organization cannot ensure the protection of the rights of Ukrainian prisoners of war,” Lubinets said on the air of the Yedyny Novyni telethon.

According to him, public executions of Ukrainian prisoners of war are war crimes.

“We demand an effective response from the international community, in particular, new arrest warrants for criminals from the ICC. Separately, he commented on the conditions of detention of Russian prisoners of war,” he emphasized.
