Date:

The Verkhovna Rada adopted in the second reading draft law No. 11389 on improving the regulation of the production and circulation of food additives, reported Yaroslav Zheleznyak, a member of the “Golos” faction in the Telegram channel.

According to his information, draft law No. 11389 on food additives was supported by 259 people’s deputies at the parliamentary session on Thursday.

As reported, at the beginning of October, people’s deputies supported in the first reading changes to the legislation on improving the regulation of the production and circulation of food additives/food supplements (draft law No. 11389).

The draft law, in particular, introduces the procedure for providing notifications about the introduction of nutritional supplements into circulation, keeping a list of such notifications and posting them on the official website of the competent authority. According to the draft law, market operators who distribute food additives must notify about the first introduction of dietary supplements into circulation at least 10 days in advance. At the same time, food additives can be put into circulation exclusively as packaged products.

During the preparation of the draft law for the second reading, 73 amendments were made to it, of which three are fundamental, in particular the amendment limiting the period of implementation of dietary supplements released before the adoption of the law to three years after the law enters into force.
