In the capital, they plan to create special green corners for psychological rehabilitation.

For several years in a row, special, varietal tulips have been blooming in the center of the capital. This is a gift to the Ukrainian capital from the Netherlands. The first 100,000 bulbs were planted on Independence Square in November 2020. Every year, this project is being scaled up more and more, varietal tulips are “conquering” more and more flower beds in the capital.

The other day, the initiator of the Ukrainian-Dutch Tulip Festival, Honorary Consul of Ukraine in the city of Amsterdam, Emile de Severin Jaquetvisited Kyiv and saw with his own eyes the flowers and the people who admire them.

This year, 5 varieties are blooming on Maidan Nezalezhnosti: red, star tulips of the Charade variety, yellow Novi Sun, purple Bullit, pink Salmon Impression tulips, yellow with red stripes Park Tiger were the first to bloom. There are other varieties in other flower beds. For example, in the square on Prorizniy Street, and the square on Volodymyrskyi Proezd — red, terry Queensday.

“We will continue this tradition next year as well. We will surprise you with new locations and a new assortment. This is our contribution to support Ukraine,” said Emile de Severin Jaquet.

His favorite tulips are yellow. They are most associated with spring, as well as with Ukraine. Mr. Emil came to our country at a time when alarms are announced almost every night, and recently the capital experienced the largest air attack. He shared that, despite everything, it was important for him not just to admire the joint project with Kyiv Green Building, but also to personally testify his support, to communicate with people.

“I liked what I saw in this square, and especially the emotions of the people and the way they reacted to the flowers,” said Emile de Sèvren Jaquet.

Oleksiy Korol, General Director of “Kyivzelenbud” Co., Ltd told that the acquaintance with Emile de Sèvrein Jacquet began precisely with the idea of creating a corner of the Netherlands in Kyiv. And this has been going on for three years already.

“Emil, his country helps our country a lot, especially since the beginning of full-scale aggression, and they respond to our proposals. In particular, we have now discussed the issue of rehabilitation. These are our plans for the future. We want to create parks and squares where people can find a foothold in nature,” Oleksiy Korol said.

The world actively practices psychological and physical rehabilitation with the help of plants. The aroma of some trees has a very calming effect. Colleagues from the Netherlands are ready to join this project, provide their methodical recommendations, help with planting material.

As the most optimal places for such rehabilitation gardens, the park in the Bay of Berkovshchyna, in the Silver Keel park and several others, where you can make corners for emotional relief, are considered. Currently, these ideas will be developed with botanists and landscape designers.

We will remind you that the first 100,000 tulips planted in the heart of the capital symbolized the Heavenly Hundred – the heroes and heroines of the Revolution of Dignity. Now it is a sign of support for Ukraine in its struggle for its freedom and will, commemoration of heroes and thanks to soldiers who protect not only their native state, but also common European values.
