A cycle of documentary films “Kyiv Outpost” was created in Kyiv region

Date:

In the Kyiv region, a series of documentary films “Kyiv Outpost” was created, which collected the facts of Russian terror and war crimes during the occupation of the region.

This is stated in messages press service of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration (KOVA)

On the first day of the full-scale invasion, February 24, 2022, the Russian army began to seize Kyiv region. The occupying forces terrorized the civilian population, kidnapped, tortured, raped and killed Ukrainians, seized nuclear facilities and medical institutions, which is prohibited by international law, in particular by the Geneva Convention.

IN documentary series “Kyivskyi Outpost” collected the facts of Russian terror and war crimes. The authors of the project documented the testimony of the victims of the occupiers, the testimony of witnesses and experts, highlighted the scale of losses and destruction in the Kyiv region.

Each episode tells about a separate war crime committed by the Russian military and its command. In the first series, it is about how Russians mocked civilians. In the second episode, the participants of the March 2022 events expose the actions of the occupiers, which prevented the evacuation of the civilian population by shooting green corridors. The third series is about those who survived torture and deportation to the territory of Russia, and those whose relatives are still in illegal detention. The fifth series describes the case in the Borodyansk psychoneurological boarding school, whose workers and patients were used by the Russians as “human shields”. The fourth part sheds light on the capture of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant and the events at the nuclear facility during the occupation from the words of those who survived the captivity and prevented a nuclear disaster. Complete the cycle of stories about how the Russian military destroyed our cultural and historical heritage.

After reviewing it, it becomes obvious that the Russians aim not only to take away foreign territories, they seek to destroy the entire Ukrainian people, civilian objects, historical and cultural heritage.

Kyiv outpost is the symbolic name of the region that took the brunt of the brutal Russian aggression. How residents of Kyiv region resisted the arbitrariness of Russian soldiers. This is about medical workers who continued to save people’s lives, about ordinary residents who saved museum exhibits, workers of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant who worked in extremely difficult conditions to save the world from a new nuclear disaster and many other impressive stories of people who, despite all the destructive actions of the Russians, tried fight each in his own place.

The production team of the public organization “Community of Active Youth” worked on the creation of the 6-part documentary project “Kyiv Outpost” with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
