A fatal road accident occurred on Zhilyanska Street in Shevchenkivsky District.
On the fact of the tragic incident, the investigators of the capital’s headquarters opened criminal proceedings. As the Kyiv police said, the law enforcement officers had previously found out that the woman was crossing the tram tracks in an unspecified place.
A 56-year-old driver of an electric rail transport ran into a pedestrian, as a result of which she died on the spot from her injuries.
Investigators have started a pre-trial investigation under Part 2 of Art. 286 of the Criminal Code (traffic safety violation that caused the victim’s death). Currently, the police are studying all the circumstances of the accident.
