In Melbourne, Miyazaki beat South Korea’s Jang Soo Chong 6-4 7-6 (7-2) to draw level with American Coco Vandeweghe.
Burrage beat the Czech Barbora Palikova 6-1 6-2 and will play Frenchman Selena Janicevic in the next round.
But British number three Katie Boulter lost 6-1 6-3 to Russian teenager Polina Kudermetova.
Boulter was hoping to reach the Australian Open for the fourth time in five years.
Britain’s Harriet Dart and Emma Raducanu are already in the women’s singles main draw, although US Open 2021 champion Raducanu is still recovering from an ankle injury.
Cameron Norrie, Dan Evans, Kyle Edmund, Andy Murray and Jack Draper have all reached the men’s singles main draw at the first Grand Slam of the year, which starts on Monday.
