Ukraine can freely use tanks and armored vehicles provided by Canada on the territory of Russia, CBC reports with reference to statement spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense of Canada, Andre-Ann Poulin.
“Ukrainians know better than anyone how to protect their homeland, and we are ready to support their potential,” Poulin said. She added that “Canada does not impose geographic restrictions on the use of military equipment that we transfer to Ukraine.”
The CBC reports that footage shot by CNN on Thursday along the Ukrainian border shows a Canadian-made Senator patrol car crossing the Russian border. At the same time, it is unclear how much equipment transferred by Canada was in the hands of Ukrainian forces at the beginning of the offensive on the Kursk region on August 6.
In general Canada transferred to Ukraine eight Leopard 2A4 tanks, several dozen armored combat support vehicles and hundreds of armored patrol vehicles, as well as several M-777 howitzers.
