At the end of September, the Bohuslav City Council allowed DTEK Kyiv Regional Networks to lease a 0.5-hectare plot of land for the construction of a 20 MW energy storage facility.
According to with a message on the website Boguslav city community, the purpose of the construction is the possibility to perform automatic frequency regulation in the unified energy system of Ukraine in order to avoid the introduction of schedules of emergency shutdowns of consumers.
The construction of the storage system will allow to reduce the amount of fluctuations and emergency shutdowns and the probability of system accidents.
“We ask the citizens who were engaged in gardening in this territory to vacate the plots of land after the harvest,” the message emphasizes.
As reported, DTEK will build energy storage facilities in Ukraine with a total capacity of 200 MW, and investments in the project will amount to EUR 140 million. The batteries will be put into operation in a number of regions of the country no later than September 2025.
“DTEK” is also a participant in the construction of the first large project of electricity storage systems in Poland. The goal is to create a pan-European energy system designed to unite Ukraine and the EU.

The Corporation is delegated the functions of strategic management of the group’s enterprises, which constitute a vertically integrated chain of coal mining and beneficiation, production and sale of electricity.
