Facebook rejects video profiles

Date:

Facebook is moving back to static profile photos, profile videos will soon be gone. This opportunity has been available for about seven years. Facebook users could set a seven-second video instead of a profile picture.

The social network will remove the profile video feature on February 7, 2022. The video profile cover image will become the new profile image for those who don’t replace the video with a photo on their own before.

Facebook has already disabled the ability to set videos as profile pictures. Reddit users have reported that the option to create a profile video no longer appears. There is currently no information on why Facebook decided to disable this option and remove the profile video feature altogether.

Facebook introduced the video profile feature in 2015. It allowed Facebook users to set a 7-second looping video clip as their profile picture.
