In connection with the death of a conscript in the district territorial center of recruitment in Zhytomyr Oblast, in the TCC appointed official investigation. However, it has already been established that the man was injured when he fell during an epileptic seizure, and not because of a beating.
This was reported in the Zhytomyr Regional TCC. At the same time, the institution noted that the man was drunk and did not want to go home himself.
We will remind: the incident happened in the Zvyagel TCC, Zhytomyr region. Serhii Kovalchuk, a 32-year-old conscript, died there. The man’s relatives claim that he was beaten in the district branch of the Military Commissariat, which is why Serhii died.
The Zhytomyr regional TCC says that the conscript was “delivered with signs of alcohol intoxication.” Since it is impossible to pass the military medical board in such a state, it was decided to send Serhiy Kovalchuk home.
“However, he expressed a request to stay at the location of the security company, because he lives alone, and in view of his poor health due to alcohol consumption. A few hours after waking up, the man called his relatives, informed about his intentions (to stay) and confirmed that illegal actions were not applied to him,” the TCC noted.
It was May 28. On the morning of May 29, Serhiy had his first epileptic seizure, during which he fell on the tiled floor and hit his head.
He was given first aid, an ambulance was called. A second epileptic attack occurred soon after. Emergency doctors provided qualified assistance and hospitalized the conscript. After four days spent in the hospital, on June 2, 2024, a message was received by law enforcement agencies about the man’s death,” the TCC claims.
And in Kryvyi Rih, on May 5, a conscript at the age of 44 also died in the TCC. Relatives report beatings, while TCC officials say he had an epileptic seizure.
