Hungary is the only country in Europe whose citizens die in the war in Ukraine – Orban

The prime minister of the neighboring state specified that he meant representatives of the Hungarian minority who fight in the Ukrainian army

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said that his country is allegedly the only one in the European Union whose citizens die in the war in Ukraine. He said this in an interview with the Italian newspaper Il Giornale.

Details

He specified that he meant the Hungarian minority in the western part of Ukraine, they join the Armed Forces and die. Orban admitted that Russia started the war, but “we have to ask ourselves what to do next.”

We are at a crossroads: either to isolate the conflict and find a diplomatic way, or to go deeper into the war, Orbán added.

Orban also commented on the permission of allied countries to launch strikes by Ukraine on the territory of the Russian Federation.

If we allow Ukraine to strike Russia with weapons that are also supplied by Italy, it will have consequences in the form of a strong reaction from Russia, and the risk of NATO intervention will be one step away, Orban stressed.

However, as InformNapalm writes, Orbán forgot to add that Hungary was the only country in the European Union that massively distributed Hungarian passports to Ukrainian citizens in Transcarpathia, and as of 2018, more than 100,000 passports were distributed. Only the Russian Federation issued more passports in the occupied territories.

If Orbán was really worried about the “citizens of Hungary”, and not about his own ass, on which the Kremlin has classified information, he would not have blocked the provision of military support to Ukraine. It is logical that the “citizens of Hungary” who serve in the Armed Forces need weapons and ammunition so that they can more effectively resist the Russian aggressors. Instead, Orbán is constantly driving branches into the wheels of the EU, thereby helping Putin to kill “citizens of Hungary,” the report says.
