In Odesa, a man was shot because he made a remark to a resident of one of the apartments of a high-rise building about loud music. This is reported by the police of Odesa region.
It is stated that the incident took place on the night of June 3-4 in a high-rise building on Akademik Korolev Street.
It was established that a 28-year-old man, who came from the neighboring region for the weekend to visit his brother in Odesa, heard loud music and commotion coming from the apartment on the 9th floor with his relative. Getting up, they knocked on the door, and when the resident of the house came out, they remarked to him about the noise, to which he began to behave aggressively.
“There was a quarrel between the men, which turned into a fight. Then the intruder entered the apartment, took a gun, and, returning, shot one of them several times, hitting him in the chest.
As a result of his injuries, the victim died on the spot. The murdered man’s brother notified the neighbors about the event, and they notified the police,” the message reads.
The offender fled from the scene of the crime. However, within an hour operatives and investigators established his identity and location and detained him in his mother’s apartment in the same area of the city.
The offender was a 22-year-old resident of Odesa.
From the scene of the incident, the law enforcement officers seized a weapon not registered to the perpetrator, which is previously a firearm, and several shell casings, which, together with other physical evidence, will be sent for examination. Investigators will determine where the suspect got the weapon and its origin during the investigation.
In addition, biological samples were taken from the suspect to determine the state of drug or alcohol intoxication.
In the presence of sufficient evidence, the investigators of the territorial division of the police under the procedural guidance of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the military and defense sphere of the Southern region informed the suspect of suspicion under Part 1 of Art. 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – in intentional murder, i.e. intentional unlawful infliction of death on another person. The suspect is detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code, the police are concerned about choosing a preventive measure for him in the form of detention.
For this crime, the young man faces up to 15 years in prison. The investigation is ongoing.
According to the results of the pre-trial investigation, the actions of the person involved will be given a final legal qualification and an indictment will be issued, which will be sent to court.
