Date:

Today in the Ivano-Frankivsk OPC, a renewed department for the simultaneous stay of mother and child was opened, in which women in labor will be provided with highly qualified assistance in the postpartum and postoperative periods, as well as care for healthy babies will be provided.

In the department, which needed significant renovation, 13 wards (family and general type) were renovated with the funds earned by the institution thanks to the Medical Guarantee Program. Wards are equipped with functional beds, other necessary furniture, during the renovation, all necessary aspects were taken into account to create safe and comfortable conditions for mothers in labor with newborns. The layout of the premises, their equipment, technical support and organization of the work of the medical staff have been completely changed, in accordance with the new conditions. The premises are arranged in such a way that, if desired or necessary, the father can stay in the ward together with the mother and the child.

The manipulation room for newborns is equipped after updating with modern manipulation equipment that ensures better adaptation of babies to a new life.

From now on, the conditions for providing specialized medical care in the medical institution meet not only the requirements of the National Health Service of Ukraine, but also the best models of perinatal centers in European countries.

In total, about 7 million hryvnias were used to update the department.

The center will provide medical services both to women giving birth in Ivano-Frankivsk region, and to women – internally displaced persons who – due to the war – are in the Carpathian region.

The opening of the updated obstetrics-physiology department is a vivid proof that even in the conditions of war, changes to improve the quality of medical care are possible.
