Yesterday, May 31, at 20:17, the police received a report that a woman with traces of blood on her clothes was spotted in one of the yards in the city of Chop.
The investigative and operative group, as well as forensic specialists of the Main Department of the regional police, immediately left for the call.
Police officers inspected the scene and found a 49-year-old resident of the city of Chop in the house without signs of life.
The law enforcement officers found out that a conflict arose between the deceased and the 58-year-old owner of the house while drinking alcoholic beverages. The woman’s 36-year-old son, who was also intoxicated, intervened in this quarrel. He suddenly grabbed a knife and stabbed the man in the back. The Transcarpathian died from his injuries.
The police immediately arrested the suspect on the spot and placed him in a temporary detention center. Physical evidence – knife, seized.
Based on this fact, the investigators entered information into the Unified Register of Pretrial Investigations under part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, i.e. Intentional murder. According to the sanction of this article, the detainee faces up to 15 years of imprisonment. The pre-trial investigation in the case continues.
