The Israeli Air Force launched a missile attack on the airport in Aleppo and disabled it. This was reported by the Syrian SANA agency on Monday morning.
According to Arab media, the strike was carried out at 4:30 a.m., and within an hour, the Syrian Civil Aviation Authority informed the airline that the only runway at the airport in Aleppo could not receive planes. The purpose of the strike was to prevent the supply of Iranian weapons to Syria and Lebanon.
Arabic edition of the Russian agency Sputnik cites the words of the Syrian military, which assures that they “knocked down most of the enemy missiles.”
A week ago, the Syrian media reported on an Israeli attack on the Damascus airport. As a result of a missile attack launched from the Golan Heights, a Syrian soldier was killed.
Another week earlier, a weapons depot of pro-Iranian armed groups was destroyed in the Damascus area.
