The negotiations on the acquisition of the UKłon taxi service began in early 2023, the agreement will be closed early next week, CEO ‘Kyivstar’ Oleksandr Komarov said.
“Around 2023, we started quite serious negotiations. They lasted for a long time, it was impossible to quickly…. Many consultants were involved,” Komarov said at the celebration of the 15th anniversary of UKłon.
According to him, the final arrangement was preceded by a large process of Due-Diligence and the restructuring of UKlon enterprises.
“This is such a difficult operation that is completed. The transaction should take place next week,” Komarov said.
Earlier, Kyivstar announced the signing of a 97% online UKlon online service agreement, which plans to bring it to new markets with the help of the Maternal Company VEON. Its amount will be $ 155.2 million, and the agreement is planned in April 2025.
It was reported that for Kyivstar, the Investment in UKlon has become a logical step in building an integrated digital ecosystem, as well as an important stage of inorganic growth and scale of business on the way to fulfilling VEON investment liabilities at $ 1 billion in 2023-2027.
CEO Veon Group Kaan Terzioglu reported that UKlon’s online service has received some of the best financial results among Rydheiling services in the world-its revenue has increased to $ 60 million in the last 4 years, EBITDA has been 44% of the amount. CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate-the average annual growth rate of financial performance in percentage-IF-U) has been 49% over the last four years.
UKLON works in 27 Ukrainian cities and in the territory of Bukovel Tourist Complex and combines more than 100,000 active partner drivers on the platform, which together make more than 10 million orders on a monthly basis. Since 2023, the company has launched an international expansion by launching a car order online in Uzbekistan.
The owners of the company indicated Dmitry and Victoria Dubrovsky – 38.46%, Vitaliy Dyatlenko and Sergey Sussya – 11.54%.
