Manchester United have agreed on the loan of Vaut Vehorst

Date:

“Manchester United” agreed on the loan of the Dutch striker Vout Weghorst until the end of the season.

The 30-year-old Burnley forward spent the first half of the season at Besiktas but is now on his way to Manchester for a medical before the move is completed.

An agreement was reached to end his loan at the Turkish club.

Weghorst scored eight goals and provided four assists in 16 league games for Beşiktaş.

His last goal came in a 2-1 win against Kasimpasa on January 7, and after that match he appeared to wave goodbye to Beşiktaş fans.

The move allows United boss Erik ten Hag to bring in his compatriot, the Dutchman, to fill the striker vacancy in his squad.

Weghorst also scored two late goals for the Netherlands in their World Cup quarter-final against Argentina last month.

He also scored in the penalty shootout, which Argentina won.

The 30-year-old has scored two goals in 20 appearances for Burnley since joining from Wolfsburg for £12million 12 months ago, a fee that was not enough to prevent the Clarets from being relegated to the Championship.

Provided there are no problems, Weghorst could be registered in time for Saturday’s derby against Manchester City at Old Trafford.
