Hollywood actor Alec Baldwin, who was officially charged with the manslaughter of a Ukrainian woman on January 31, faces another trial. Gloria Allred, the lawyer for the family of Galina Hutchins, a cameraman from the Zhytomyr region, said that the relatives of the deceased have filed a lawsuit in the Los Angeles County Superior Court against the producer of the film “Rust” and the performer of the main role Alec Baldwin, as well as against other defendants who are also responsible for the tragic death of Hutchins.
As written Vulture, Galina’s parents, who live in Ukraine, and her sister, who lives in Indonesia, demand that Baldwin, members of the film crew and other producers pay moral compensation for the loss of their loved one. It is not yet known what the amount is.
Earlier it was reported that Alek managed to settle the conflict with Galina’s relatives and get permission from them to continue filming. But according to Allred, it was about the cameraman’s husband, Matthew Hutchins, and their 9-year-old son, Andros. However, Baldwin did not even apologize to Galina’s Ukrainian relatives.
“There was no settlement for the plaintiffs. In fact, Mr. Baldwin has not contacted them to even apologize,” the lawyer said.
Hutchins’ sister Svitlana noted that the loss of Galina was a great tragedy for her and her parents, which undermined their health. The woman wants those responsible for the death of Hutchins to answer for their crime.
“Losing my sister, at least for me personally, was a terrible experience and one of the biggest losses of my life. It is even more devastating to see the suffering of our parents and how their health has deteriorated dramatically. For this reason, I would like those who are responsible for someone to bear this responsibility. Not just anyone, but someone who is really responsible for it. I believe that it is unacceptable to let it go and leave it unpunished,” said Svitlana.
