The bookshop “Syaivo knygi” presents an unexpected publication about Ukrainian films

Anna Proskurny’s book of poems “50 poems — 50 Ukrainian films” will be a poetic prompt for movie lovers.

On April 14, at 5:00 p.m., a book of poems by Anna Proskurny “50 Poems — 50 Ukrainian Films” will be presented in the capital bookstore “Syaivo Knygi”.

Each of the poems has a short description of the film in the form of an essay, as an introduction and reflection. For those who have seen all the indicated films, or even work in the film industry, the book will become a kind of poetic view of the viewer.

The publication is an impetus to watch Ukrainian cinema. A kind of “poetic hint” that will help you choose a movie based on the right topic and genre. One of the means of studying history, language, and traditions is through watching films. Reflections on social topics. It is an opportunity to remember and remember the victims of various wars – from the 20th century to the present day.

In the program: reading 20 poems, as well as viewing excerpts / trailers / soundtracks of Ukrainian films.

The author, Anna Proskurnya, is a music art therapist and poet. She wrote poems during several years of watching Ukrainian films of various genres. The book is dedicated to Ukrainian cinematography. And also — a dedication to Ukraine through the prism of cinema.

Artistic evenings with military personnel and writers are held in the capital bookstore “Syaivo knygi”. The first meeting took place on April 8 with military personnel: songwriter Oleksandr Klets and virtuoso guitarist Serhiy Gryzlov.
