According to the results of the first 1/8 games of the 2024 European Football Championship in Germany, the first participants of the 1/4 finals of the tournament were formed. At the match in Berlin, the Swiss national team beat Italy with a score of 2:0, and in Dortmund, the German national team beat the Danish national team, also with a score of 2:0, in a difficult match.
The Swiss national team confidently played the match, opening the score in the 37th minute and sealing the result in the 46th minute of the meeting. Italy had only one shot into the opponent’s goal area, which hit the post. The Swiss national team will play the winner of the match between England and Slovenia.
There were many more dramatic moments in the meeting between the teams of Germany and Denmark. The first goal of the match was scored by Denmark in the 4th minute of the match, however, after watching the VAR video, it was canceled due to a violation of the rules. At the 36th minute, the match was stopped due to a thunderstorm with a squall. After the resumption of the match at the beginning of the second half, the ball was already in the goal of the German national team, but it was canceled again after the VAR review due to offside. At the 53rd minute, a penalty was awarded for a handball in Denmark’s goal, which was successfully implemented by the Germans. In the 68th minute, the German national team sealed the score. The national team of the hosts of the championship will take on the winners of the match between Spain and Georgia.
