The IMF mission begins technical discussions with Ukraine regarding preparations for the revision of the financing program

The mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is starting technical discussions with representatives of Ukraine regarding the preparation for the second review of the extended financing program, the press service of the IMF said, referring to the statement of the permanent representative Vahram Stepanyan, which he made in Poland.

“The IMF mission led by Gavin Gray is starting today technical discussions with representatives of the Ukrainian authorities regarding the latest economic developments and with the aim of discussing fiscal, budgetary, financial and structural measures in the context of preparations for the 2023 consultations under Article IV of the IMF Agreements and for the second review of the program of the extended funding (EFF),” the message reads.

Earlier, the Ukrainian government stated that they expect from the IMF in 2024 tranches in the amount of 5.4 billion dollars.

In the summer, the Board of Directors of the IMF concluded first viewing of the program extended financing for Ukraine and approved the immediate allocation to it of the second tranche of about 890 million dollars. It was reported that the funds will be used to support the budget. The second review of the program is expected in October.
