Preliminary – there are no victims.
On Tuesday, April 11, a fire broke out on the third floor of the four-story educational building of the Karpenko-Kary Kyiv National University at 52 Khreshchatyk Street. It was reported Mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klitschko.
Svetlana Vodolaga, spokeswoman of the State Emergency Servicecomments to “Vechirnyi Kyiv” journalists that the fire has already been contained and there are no casualties.
“The fire broke out on an area of 10 square meters. Preliminary – there are no victims. At 10:06 a.m., the fire was contained,” she clarifies.
Rescue units continue to work on extinguishing the fire.
Updated. The assistant rector of the university comments: “There was a small fire, it was put out with a fire extinguisher. However, we did call the rescuers, but it’s okay. The rector is already in place.”
