The Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, in cooperation with sports federations, approved the rules of WKC grappling, pankration, chess, strongman and karate competitions.
“The first five sports federations adapted the competition rules to the needs of war veterans and people with disabilities. This creates opportunities for the development of adaptive sports and the involvement of a certain category of the population in sports events, which will contribute to their recovery and reintegration into society,” the ministry said in a statement.
It is noted that of the Ministry of Sports works to make sports and physical activity accessible to everyone who needs it, and actively implements new approaches to the development of adaptive sports.
In particular, currently sports federations of sports recognized in Ukraine have already started their activities to adapt physical culture and sports to the needs of war veterans, persons with disabilities and create opportunities for their participation in sports events without barriers.
“The comprehensive implementation of adaptive sports in the field of physical culture and sports will ensure the systematic development of it at all levels and will enable participants to take measures depending on their personal preferences,” the department added.
