The poetic mass “Word is a weapon” was performed at the National Philharmonic

Date:

The leitmotif of the artistic event was the theme of war in all its dimensions, which is replaced by the theme of hope and faith in the bright future of our country.

The other day, the Mykola Lysenko Column Hall hosted an event for the Day of the Ukrainian Volunteer. The basis art project “Word-weapon” became the poetry of Anatoly Matviychuk.

A touching and dramatic concert program was prepared by famous Ukrainian composers and performers: Victor Krysko (keyboards), Mykhailo Shved, Kirill Stetsenko (violin), Viktor Matsko (percussion), as well as an unsurpassed master of the artistic word Anatoly Palamarenkopoet, composer, singer, publicist Anatoly Matviychuk, Philharmonic artists Nadia Ageeva-Swedish (author and director of the project), Natalia Nasikan (artistic word) and Anna Semets (vocal and artistic word).

The audience greeted the artists with sincere applause

Performances of musicians and masters of the artistic word were enhanced by video content created by Anastasia Krysko.

“The word is a weapon” is a joint meditation, a holistic vision of the naked and poignant poetic world of our Ukrainian Homer of the 21st century…” says violinist Kyrylo Stetsenko about the artistic project.

The event combined music and poetry

With their performances, the artists proved that the word can also act as a weapon – subtle, but no less powerful and effective. After all, it is not bullets or cannons that change the world, but thoughts, ideas and beliefs that reach a large number of people.

In the musical part of the evening, the works of the outstanding Ukrainian composer of the baroque era Maksym Berezovsky, as well as modern works of Anatoly Matviychuk, were presented.

In this action, which we are creating, we are talking about many important things – about the limits that a person should not cross, about the sources of human hope and faith during war, and also about those secrets of the human soul that are revealed only at critical moments of existence. I hope that our listeners and viewers managed to experience the real catharsis that we, the actors, experienced even during rehearsals“, says Anatoliy Matviychuk.

Poet and composer Anatoly Matviychuk

Anatoliy Palamarenko, the unsurpassed master of the artistic word and a luminary of the Ukrainian scene, notes that every creative person, like a musical string, has its own unique overtones.

If several talented personalities gather for the sake of poetry – a poet, a composer, actors and musicians – then they all together create a powerful energy link capable of influencing human souls.”— says Anatoly Nestorovych.

The power of words has a great influence on the audience

The theme of the war and the tragic realities of our present did not leave either artists or listeners. All participants of the project felt, without exaggeration, what war means. Because everyone had direct contact with those pain points that are now in everyone’s ears — Makarov, Bucha, Brovary, Irpin… Someone was born there, lived there, or found himself at the most tragic moment of our common history.

Director of the project Natalia Ageeeva-Swedish remarked:

“War should not exist in our century as a phenomenon. But in order for this statement to become a conviction, we all need to go through it together, understand, record this terrible sensory experience and develop a common negative attitude towards war… Therefore, I hope that those who came to our event will not remain indifferent…“.

The project participants also noted that today it is extremely important to jointly hold our cultural front with the great power of poetry. It has an incredible ability to get into a person’s consciousness, unfolding there with unexpected associations, thoughts and feelings.
