The company is preparing to defend its position in the appeals administrative court.
The Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, together with the Shevchenkiv Court of Kyiv, blocked the funds on the accounts of ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih. This is stated in the press service of the enterprise.
Representatives of the Prosecutor General’s Office appealed to Ukrainian banks with a demand to comply with the court’s decision on the imposition of seizures on the company’s accounts on November 30, 2021.
The dispute concerns the approach to the calculation of annuity.
“On November 4, 2021, the District Administrative Court supported the position of ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih and rejected the civil lawsuit against the company, initiated by the State Tax Service. An appeal has been filed with the tax authorities, and the company is preparing to defend its position in the appellate administrative court,” the message reads.
Currently, civil proceedings against ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih are not underway, so there are no legal grounds for blocking the company’s accounts, the company added.
It will be recalled that in November the SBU searched the apartment of the top manager of ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih. The investigation estimated the losses to the budget from the actions of the top manager at more than UAH 2.2 billion. According to the investigation, from May 2017 to April 2019, the top manager entered false information into official documents regarding the charging of subsoil use fees. This concerned the “Valyavkinsky” and “Novokryvorizky” iron ore deposits.
