The World Bank will provide $47 million to restore heat supply in Kharkiv – Ministry of Finance

Date:

Ukraine will receive a total of 109 million dollars as part of World Bank projects, the Ministry of Finance announced on June 11.

According to the report, Minister Serhiy Marchenko signed the relevant changes to the grant agreements for two projects together with the current Director of Ukraine, Moldova and Belarus Arup Banerjee.

The agreements relate to the projects “Housing Repair for the Restoration of People’s Rights and Opportunities (HOPE)” and “Restoration of Power Supply in the Winter Period and the Supply of Energy Resources” (Re-PoWER).

In particular, an additional grant of 62 million dollars within the framework of the HOPE project will be directed to small and medium-sized repairs of residential buildings partially damaged by Russian shelling.

“An additional grant in the amount of 47 million US dollars under the Re-PoWER project will contribute to the provision of central heating services to the residents of Kharkiv, namely the purchase and installation of heating equipment,” the report said.

According to Marchenko’s articles, funds from international donors continue to be a key source of financing social and humanitarian expenditures, as well as the restoration of critical infrastructure facilities.
