The men’s national team of Ukraine became the winner of the Golden Euroleague in volleyball, defeating the national team of Croatia with a score of 3:1 in the final match in Osijek (Croatia).
Ukraine won first place in the Golden Euroleague for the second time in history after winning in 2017. Thus, the team will compete at the Challengers Cup, which will be held in China from July 4 to 7, for selection to the League of Nations.
As reported by the press service of the “Epicenter” group of companies, the result of the Ukrainian team demonstrated the high potential of the country in volleyball. In addition, the victory was made possible thanks to the efforts of a renewed team under the leadership of the Argentine coach Raul Losano.
“These competitions demonstrated that it is necessary to develop volleyball in Ukraine and that we have high potential. The national team was represented by many young talented athletes who, even at competitions of state importance, were not the main ones on the court. The Volleyball Federation of Ukraine made a bet on them, and thanks to the right approach, motivation and great desire of the players, the Ukrainian volleyball team showed results,” the company’s press release says.
“Epicentr” acts as a partner of the Volleyball Federation of Ukraine, in 2021 a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the parties. In addition, the co-owner of “Epicenter” Oleksandr Gerega is the first vice-president of the “Volleyball Federation of Ukraine” NGO, as well as the co-owner of the “Epicenter-Podolyany” volleyball club (Town of Khmelnytskyi region).
