Kazakhstan has started transporting oil to Germany

Date:

The national company “KazTransOil” has started accepting Kazakh oil into the oil pipeline for export to Germany.

“On February 23, the system of trunk oil pipelines of JSC “KazTransOil” began receiving Kazakh oil for transportation to Germany,” Shingys Ilyasov, director of the company’s public relations and internal communications department, said. transmits “Interfax-Ukraine” agency.

According to the oil supply schedule approved by the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan, the company will transport 20,000 tons of oil through the Druzhba oil pipeline to the Adamova Zastava oil delivery point in February for further supply to Germany, he noted.

JSC “KazTransOil” in December 2022 submitted an annual application for the transportation in 2023 of 1.2 million tons of Kazakhstani oil through the system of main oil pipelines of PJSC “Transneft” by sending the oil transfer point “Adamova Zastava” for further supply to Germany.

Earlier, European players in connection with plans to reduce dependence on Russian oil turned to Kazakhstan with a request for the supply of raw materials. Russia approved Kazakhstan’s application to transport oil through the Druzhba main oil pipeline to Germany. In the first quarter, KazTransOil planned to transit 300,000 tons of Kazakh oil to Germany.

Kazakhstan plans to export 1.5 million tons of oil to Germany in 2023 and may increase the volume to 7 million tons.

It is planned that Kazakh oil will be sent to the oil refinery in the city of Schwedt, which was owned by Rosneft, but was transferred to the control of the Federal Network Agency of Germany in September. Rosneft Deutschland (a structure of Rosneft) accounted for about 12% of German oil refining capacity and was one of the largest players in the local fuel market. The capacity of the refinery in Schwedt is 11.6 million tons of oil products per year. From the design stage, the plant was historically associated with the Druzhba oil pipeline and Russian oil fields.
