The court annulled the bankruptcy of the company “Ukrbud Development” of ex-people’s deputy Mykytas

Date:

The Court of Appeal annulled the decision of the State Court of Kyiv dated September 8 last year, which opened proceedings in the case of bankruptcy of Ukrbud Development LLC based on the complaint of Fortabud LLC and recognized the debtor’s claims in the amount of 148.7 million hryvnias. The Northern Court of Appeal made the relevant decision on December 29, 2022, satisfying the appeal of the “Bazert Development Elelpi” company, writes Finbalance.

The state register lists the offshore company “Bazert Development Elleppi” as the owner of “Ukrbud Development” LLC, and Serhii Kasapskyi as the director.

In September last year, former People’s Deputy and figure in a number of corruption investigations Maksym Mykytas announced the return of control over Ukrbud Development LLC, at the same time he presented Serhiy Kasapskyi as the company’s new director. In this position, he replaced the former partner of Mykytas Oleg Maiboroda, who was accused by the ex-Deputy of withdrawing the company’s assets worth $100 million.

Ukrbud Development LLC was established in 2004 to develop and support projects of the Ukrbud Corporation. The completion of its facilities in 2019 was entrusted to “Kyivmiskbud”.

As a reminder, since 2017 NABU has been investigating possible misuse and embezzlement of money during the construction of housing for the National Guard by the Ukrbud company. Mykytas was suspected in this case in October 2019. The verdict in the case has not yet been passed.

Meanwhile, on October 18, 2022, Mykytas was detained in the case of offering a bribe to Dnipro Mayor Boris Filatov. According to the investigation, the former People’s Deputy offered the mayor of Dnipro an illegal profit in the amount of 10% of the project’s cost (220 million euros) for concluding a contract for the construction of the metro in Dnipro without a tender with companies under his control. He promised to provide the funds in installments during the duration of the project – until 2027. The project is financed by means of a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

On October 20, the Higher Anti-Corruption Court chose a preventive measure for the former People’s Deputy Maksym Mykytas, who was exposed for trying to bribe the mayor of Dnipro Boris Filatov for 22 million euros, in the form of detention with the alternative of paying bail in the amount of 260 million UAH. On November 1, the VAX Appeals Chamber reduced the bail amount for Mykyt to UAH 100 million.
