“Every minute can take the lives of Ukrainians”: Zelensky criticized partners for not supplying weapons quickly enough

Date:

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi once again criticized the partners for not supplying weapons quickly enough. He emphasized that it is this delay that can take the lives of our citizens every minute.

This is what the head of state said stated in the first part of the interview with The Guardian. According to the president, the enemy also knows about it and takes advantage of it, stretching the front.

“The decision of the US Congress on aid to Ukraine is very important. This is a weapon. And this is an important signal for the Russian Federation. But it should be a joint positive decision of the USA and Europeans,” he said.

According to the president, from this amount, as of today, few weapons have arrived.

“We cannot staff brigades and reserves. We cannot simply change the brigades that are standing so that there is a normal rotation,” Zelensky emphasized.

The President emphasized that it is necessary to find a way out of the situation every day and to think about manning and preparing the reserve. He asked the partners to “believe in us more”.

“In general, the amount allocated by the US Congress is large, and with these funds, brigades can be staffed simply and quickly,” the president added.

However, Zelenskyi believes that it is speed that “constantly lacks for Western partners.” In his opinion, it can be for various reasons, including bureaucratic ones.

“Attitudes towards time are completely different between us and our partners. We want faster delivery of weapons. It’s just that the cost of this is more painful for us than for partner countries, because no one dies in their families. And thank God! But that’s the point,” the president summed up his opinion, adding that “you don’t know what war is until it comes to your home.”
