The pension system in Ukraine provides for two main types of pensions: for civil servants and for ordinary citizens. Pensions of civil servants are calculated as a percentage of the former salary. Previously, this percentage reached 90%, but was later reduced to 60%. Further reduction of this percentage is possible in the future.
Pensions of ordinary citizens are calculated taking into account not only salary, but also length of service. Age pensions for ordinary citizens are a certain percentage of wages, depending on seniority. For example, 30 years of experience gives the right to a 30% pension. To receive a 60% pension, you need to have 60 years of service and a high salary.
